Lahariya Contest

The festival of Hariyali Teej is celebrated differently in different parts of the country. Hariyali Teej stands to be one of the most awaited festivals for Hindu women. They observe the vrat religiously and wish for the long life of their spouses and to-be-husbands to Goddess Parvati and Lord Shiva.

Women in the states of Haryana, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh and Bihar, celebrate Teej with great joy and enthusiasm. Colorful attires, special sweets like Ghevar and Fasting mark the celebrations of the unification of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati on this auspicious day of Sawan.

On this day, women dress up in traditional attires and don all hues of green, from bangles to sari and apply heena in hands as they observe a day-long fast to pray. They offer belpatri, fruits, flowers and rice coated in turmeric to the Goddess Parvati. Women pray to Goddess for safety of their husbands and happiness in their married life.

On August 3rd, 2019, we at Digamber Finance, celebrated Lahariya Contest, on the occassion of Hariyali Teej. The contest was for our ladies staff members only.

The theme of contest was a lahariya dress competetion, where participant ladies need to be dressed in a Lahariya attire (saree or suite or lahnga) and to walk on ramp and stage. All male staff members were asked to vote for the best dressed participant according to their choices.

On the basis of popular voting 5 winners were declared and awarded.

The event was basically to create a festive thrill among whole team, who work very hard in order to achieve their goals at workplace. The initiative taken by the management was appreciated by each and everyone.

Followed by the colorful event of ramp walk, voting, result declaration and prize distribnution, this fun-filled, entertaining event ended with the delicious breakfast arranged by the management.
